Maxx Machine Drives out Konrads in
#1
A buddy just pulled the trigger today on upgrading his drives to some new Konrad's. I think his boat was just too big for a bravo style drive. He is taking off two 2005 Maxx Machine works drive, serviced completely by Doller just 15 hours ago. What is the value of these drives with approximately 100 hours on them? Complete set-up including transom and gimbal assemblies. Anybody got a project that could use them??? Please give me your thoughts on what these are worth, and if anyone has any interest in them please shoot me a p.m.

I would guess around 7K per drive in the used market. Put them up for sale in the OSO classifieds and see what happens.

How many times were these drives blown up? They cost around 10 g's a piece and the market used is really about 4500-7000 each depending how bad someone wants them and how bad your bud wants to sell them. If they been blown up 3 or 4 times and your honest about it people will be scared to buy them plus they do get dog-eared from being apart quite a few times,I know mine has,Smitty

Let me clarify please, the Max gears and one shaft in those drives with only 15 hours on them are being replaced by Max, due to problems with their process.....they haven't "blown up", just upon routine inspection the gears have some evidence of flaking, otherwise the drives are sound.
We are doing the Konrad conversion on this boat, and are confident the owner of this large performance boat will have a more durable drive system.
