See Hydrocruiser's dissertation on oil in his gigantic thread, it explains in great detail what's up with no red cap. There is a new formulation that leaves out something that marine motors need. Anyway read the thread before you decide. It will take most of the weekend to read it and there will be a test.

As far as I know the red cap has been discontinued and the new Mobil 1 is the Gold Cap. It is much better than the old red cap from what I remember reading (from Hydrocruiser). My local Wal-Marts have been out of the 5 quart jugs for quite some time but have recently been restocked and can get any weight needed....as was mentioned it was $25.XX but I'm guessing that will go up if it hasn't already. Interesting part of that is that it's fully synthetic and not based on supply/demand of crude (I don't think).

Our Walmarts around here sometimes have the 15/50. Last summer they had it on sale for $19xx. Should've stocked up.
