When coming out of the water the boat was never sluggish and jumped out of the water the front end didn't rise the whole boat would rise and take off like a bullet... With a quarter tank of gas and me alone on the boat I could get that boat doing 62 or 63 mph

They did make an XR B3 to handle the torque of 525. I believe the biggest pitch for a stock blade pitch was 30. Unless you are going to build a custom set of props and max out the HP that a stock B1 upper can handle it's not a cost effective speed solution.
The B3 is great in single engine runabouts in the 15 to 30 foot range. But 60-70 mph is about it. |

There is no B3 upper, the top is a standard B1 with X or XR gears.

We were able to get 87mph with our single engine Bravo 3. It was a 1.5 gear ratio, but I do not recall the pitch of the prop. That said, the prop guy cut a ton off of those big ears to get it spinning faster. We also added a nose cone.

Have a 2000 226 Cobalt with a stock 7.4 MPI. Corsa silent choice exhaust bravo 3 29P prop with a 1:2 ratio. Best speed 1/2 tank of fuel slight chop. Next speed 63.5 mph on gps
