Default corrosion protection for boat lift

Is corrosion protection for a galvanized boat lift needed in salt water. If so what would be used as an anode, zinc, aluminum, magnesium?

Hot dip galv. is as good a finish as you can get for corosion resistance.. You could use a mil spec epoxy paint like tnemec (sp)
