I'll be the first to say it..... the bike scares me. I have had some pretty bad bikes, big Yosh Suzuki 1208 that made about 180hp, some other smaller bikes, hell I had a CB1100F in 11th grade of high school (when everybody else had gpz550's!). I am taking it easy, I have nothing to prove and certainly nothing to prove to any 20 year old street squids!!! You will probably see me at some dyno shootouts during bike week sporting a bigger turbo and the engine builder helping put up some crazy numbers.....

Big difference is that I have been racing bikes all my life, the offshore racing thing was new. I also would like to point out that people alot more talented than me had been out of my boat, more than once!! Its about what you love Bruce..... I like boating, I have always loved bikes. I know you love boat racing, and you seem to do OK with it. My choice to stop racing was more predicated on the fact that I had a dangerous boat.... I dont need to have more than one spin to figure that out!! Dont count me out though, I may just buy an SVL to annoy you.......

dlaw i read the article about the development of that set up its really incredible, most can't even begin to grasp what its like having that much hp in a bike, funny bikes didn't make that much power a few years back and they had a 12" car tire for traction and only went in a straight line! its got twice the hp of a gp1 bike :eek: which is really insane to say the least. i would think the top end would be closer to 300mph with a little better streamling, be careful and find some long str8 hwy before you feed it the coal :D

I raced MX for years as an A class rider, and rode some nationals as a pro-am but never did well at all. Had alot of fun and am still friends with a few guys that are stillracing Nationals (Barry Carsten). When I was in college and Law school in St. Pete I did alot of street racing, out on Gandy, howard franklin and have the distinction of riding a wheelie from the on ramp of gulf to bay all the way across bayside bridge down the hump and past the turtle club...... I was doing about a 130 on the down side!!! Those days are over though. I did go to orange county raceway in Orlando every wednesday for my 3 years of college to run street drags....
