People used to think that diesels were slow. I own a CHEVY 2500 with 6.5 turbo diesel and it's pretty fast but nothing like the new ones.

hypertech power programmer, air raid cold air intake, 2-2 chamber flowmasters, helix power tower adds a lot of punch and sounds mean

You should deffinatly look into the Whipple System. The 8.1L Kits make huge Power and Torque gains. If you do the kit with the intercooler the Hp peaks out right around 500 at 4500 Rpm. And torque levels reach almost 900 Ft.Lbs at 3000 Rpm. That should give those diesl guys a run for there money.
I have installed the kit on our shops 2000 Taho with the 5.3L and we tow a 28' twin engin boat with no problem. Add some exhaust like the B&B system, and an intake upgrade such as Airaid and you will be hauling ass. Plus the Whipple Guys are super helpfull and I wouldent recomend them otherwise
