Re: When's LOTO's Kilo run

No. A kilo run is entirely different than the shootout. The shootout is run from practically a dead stop and the boat is given a radar timed top speed at the end of one mile.
KiloKat: One mile isn't very far...almost a drag race for offshore boats. Does the need for acceleration make the PSI preferable or is low speed acceleration limited by other factors anyway? Does trading off some low RPM power for top end power makes sense at LOTO, or is it just for kilo runs? Just curious. :D

Only if you can get to top end from an idle in 1 mile. We couldn't last year

I've been out on the water on holiday weekend at LOTO.. and it did seem to be alittle choppy in the 33 AVS that weekend.. if i think back it was like a huge moble crouse.. what the water like for the shootout... seems like i knew a guy that ran a 43 Smith in it and read somewhere that some Pondtunes where running in the 70's??????
