No. A kilo run is entirely different than the shootout. The shootout is run from practically a dead stop and the boat is given a radar timed top speed at the end of one mile. A kilo run usually has at least two miles of runup then the boat is timed for one kilometer and given an average speed. The boat then has fifteen minutes to make a return run in the opposite direction where it is timed again and given another average speed. The two directional speeds are then averaged for an official kilo speed. :drink:

lycomings?? we had one in a 50 Nortech.. nice thing about them is no madder how hard you run them you don't have the worries that you feel when running standard motors.. you just don't get the feeling that they are going to blow up
