SCARABJ 01-17-2002 10:06 PM

89 30 thunder ed. 2 509 keith eickerts w/prochargers 94.7 radar changing x dim this week 2 inch lower imcos looking for a few more mph!!

Tinkerer 01-17-2002 10:12 PM

SCARABJ -- Hey You mean 2 inches shorter drives don't you? If that is what you mean let me know how it works. I to have been thinking of doing this but don't want to spend the money on a chance that it will help.

NICKSLICK 01-17-2002 10:14 PM

x dimension is lowering the drives in relationship to the transom, that doesnt affect the drive height itself...

i may be wrong.

buck183 01-17-2002 10:14 PM

1996 26' Scarab W/ 502 MPI. No mods. Low to mid 60's on speedo, no GPS yet. Located in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.

Never heard of a Scarab get together. (I'm a little new though) Would be interested in one though. Hell, I'd be happy to get together with any of the owners on here.

SCARABJ 01-17-2002 10:18 PM

nickslick x dim is the prop shaft to the tansom when using the imco 2" shortend lowers this will raise the x 2"

Tinkerer 01-17-2002 10:21 PM

The X dim. is the normal stock mounting height of the drive. raising the x dim. raises the drive. Raising the drive means you don't have to trim as high to cavitate the prop for max speed. Also with a higher drive height your not wasting HP pushing the transom deeper into the water. The only possible problem with the higher drive height is loss of crusing speed due to prop slippage.
