I'm also looking to buy a 1989 Python Vector 24'. Did you already buy yours? How do you like it?

Jim Clark, I did not know you, but may you now rest in peace.

This one got away from me before I pulled the trigger.
I thought it was a really sharp boat. The one I was looking at had purple and yellow graphics, I noticed your not far from here - could be the same one?

I know the guy who bought the rights to the name and he used to work for Jim. He is going to be building a 26' and is currently working on a new 30' hull for us. we are going to rig it ourselves .He also has the 18 mold I can find out about the 24' if you want. He is very meticulous and does excelent work.

I think thats the one. From Plapp's Pro Outdoor? Why did you pull out on the deal?

bouyhunter 03-17-2007 07:51 AM

Yep, thats the one.
I didn't pull out of the deal, it just sold before I had a chance to make the deal.
I have a bunch of pic's of it on my other computer if you want me to post some.
The guys at Plapps didn't even know what it was. I had to pull the HIN and do some research on here to find out more about it.
Is it back at Plapps?
I'd still consider it, but if your buying, I won't cut in on your dance.
From what I saw, it needed some tidying up in the rigging, but all in all looked pretty good.
I never did hear it run, so I can't help you there.
If it's still at Plapps and you want more info, I can stop by there - it's only 5 miles from my place.

Doug, I happened to be out running around this morning, and stopped at Plapps just to see if it was still around.
I was looking around the yard and didn't see it anywhere.
Just as I was about to leave, they were pulling it outside. I stopped and talked to sales guy for minute. Said they fired it this morning, and she sounded like an animal:D
Congrats - it should be in transit to you right now.
I might have a little more info on the boat, and some contacts for the history of the boat if ya want it.
I took these Pics last summer when I was looking at it.

That was the first thing I thought.

Probably add some better tabs too, but all in all a cool package.

do you have any other pictures of Jim? Shoot them to me if you can at 586-785-9149. I’d appreciate it. I’m having his old partner Tom McNabb fully restore and upgrade a python 19 that I used to ride in when I was a kid. It took me 25 years to find it, but I got lucky six years ago when I found it in the back of a guys backyard in Waterford Michigan.
