Earlier today a paramedic unit from one of our stations was dispatched to a city next to us, along with a squad from the other city. The call was put out as a "nose bleed". While enroute the units were advised to go to a different channel for info. The dispatcher advised the responding units that the call was actually "penis amputation". There was dead silence on the radio after that, then the units came back with " ahhh....ok we copy".
It seems this 20 year old was at work where there are about 80 employees, pulled his unit out stretched as far as he could and with one fail swoop cut it off.

When the responders got there he was just standing there with the said unit in his hand. They said he cut it flush at the base and even got in the scrotum. Damn near blead to death. Both the big patient and the little patient where transported to the nearest trauma center.

He stated the voices in his head told him to cut it off and it would cure him. (from what I don't know)

Never a dull moment in this business.

Anybody dumb enuf to cut their penis off... they should just let him die...

Wow! Have I got a story to tell on my next shift. Ive been on some pretty strange calls but that takes the cake....Im speechless and he's penis-less.
