Re: New York to Miami
I believe the boat was "Maggies Mercruiser Special", an aluminum Cougar cat. I think it was 45'. George Morales owned and drove it. I dont have the book "Searace" in front of me (I'm at work) but I think the average speed was around 80mph. This is all off the top of my head, I could be wrong....I'll check tonight. :D
One last thing, it was a quad engine set up. |
Re: New York to Miami
Isn't there supposed to be a resurrection of the Miami to New York race happening this year or next?

Re: New York to Miami
Robert,
I thought Maggies New York boat was a V Hull Triple. It's been a long time, I could be mistaken. Let us know what Searace says. As I recall, GM was not "officially" in the race. Quite a story on GM if anyone would like to elaborate. |
Re: New York to Miami
BobK,
George did race a 46' V with triples that season, but used the cat for the record run. |
