That's what I was thinking. A 26P prop and only going 60? Either slip or WAY short on RPMS.

Wow... well I am in for an education. Ok... I know I need the exhaust, I am limited in cost (They dont pay that much in the Army) so I am thinking some Revolution Marine headers....

I have Roller Rockers and nessessary tall covers... I have through prop exhaust so I got a hold of some used Captian's Call diverters, now I just need some good tips. Still thinking if I want to buy an better intake manifold (RPM Airgap).

Hydro steering? Ummm dont even know where to start on that.... is it expencive? How nessessary is it? Do I need to install it while the engine is pulled?

Yep I checked the prop.... it is a Mirage 26P... that is what it says on the prop anyways. I am not sure on the speed... I was faster than anything I ran against... just guessed speed (Not worth crap I know) now I have a GPS so I will be able to tell.

As for tabs... I got the new Insta Trim off shore performance tabs. They are heavy duty with dual pistons.

More input and education please!! Guys I am new to this all so any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Yup stiffens everything up down there ..Especialy if your putting bigger power in a boat thats not realy built for it.

Longrange, your boat will be hard to handle over 65mph and very dangerous over 70 without hydraulic steering...full hydraulic steering! With the correct prop you have the potential to hit 80mph with 415hp on a light 22' boat like the 22 Scarab. Your boat will ride right up on the pad and the only way at these speeds to keep it there is some very exact steering. You will not get this with the low grade cable steering that is stock on this boat and you must use hydraulic steering...full hydraulic steering. You will also need to beef up the engine brackets to hold the engine in place and like others have mentioned you need to use offshore race style mounts. This is all for your safety and so that you do not tear up the boat and engine you already have. It's best to do everything correctly.
As far as the exhaust goes you can use the stock exhaust for now but be aware the stock exhaust on a 502mag is very prone to leak water at the riser and manifold flange and also at idle from the exhaust water outlet. Be sure your riser and manifold flange are perfectly flat and use Merc gaskets and a lot of sealer. I had a 502mag with this very same problem and meet plenty of others with 502 mags with this problem. Stainless Marine exhaust solved my problem..of course after an engine rebuild.

Exhuast system = $1200-$1500. you could skip this and buy after your next rebuild.
Full hydro steering (latham or MM) $3500. A must.

IMO, I would not tear the engine apart until needed.

Wow... ok now I have found some Hydro steering setups for inboard engines from both Ultraflex and Teleflex... are these appropiate systems?

Also I found the offshore mount http://www.cpperformance.com/detail.aspx?ID=847 but I am not sure this is the right application?

No those out braod systems will not work and are not for the type of performance setup you have. You need something from Lathem, Marine Machine and so forth that is designed for a Bravo 1 outdrive.
Check with Fred from Trick Marine. He can advise you on the parts you need plus he is a long time OSO member and is very well respected here.
