Electric RC Boats
My neighbor wants to get an electric RC Boat as an adult toy. He found the Traxxas EX Deep v Racer,$315 for everything at Tower Hobbies. Since I'm a boat guy,he wants my opinion, but I know absolutely nothing about this stuff. He is not on a budget, can afford whatever, doesn't want gas or nitro. Comments?

Re: Electric RC Boats
the Traxxas boat is good for about 10-15mph
it is a pond boat
It is a kids boat
if he wants something more then what a 10yearold would be happy with he needs to find bigger and better, meaning spend the $$$
The nitro one is a little faster, but more tempermental to run.
I have had at least 5 or 6 people here at work get this boat and then come to me for help to get more speed. Sorry, it is what it is.
Yes, you could put in bigger motors, better batteries, gears etc.
But why not start with a performance RC boat?
