Hey Mark, I used to have a Hammer, which I believe is the same boat with cabin vs bowrider. It's a nice boat and I enjoyed very much. It's a fast little boat, light and a 21* bottom. Mine had a 350mag and it did just a hair over 60. No problems either!

I am now the proud owner a a Baja 212 Islander. We drove 12 hrs to tacoma Wash and 12 hrs back. Put the boat in at Lake Shasta for some fun on the way home. There was snow on the surounding hills and the air was cold but I still had a great time. It does 68 mph with a 21 pitch mirage prop that came with the boat. Not to bad.

You came all the way to Tacoma and didn't come the extra 30 miles for a beer and some boat talk?

Anyhow, congrats on the new toy.

Mark-
Sorry I missed your post. My family and I have had the same problems. Wanted a runabout that performed well. I will look at the Islander and also the Checkmate Stilleto.

Glad you like the Baja. How is it out of the hole?

Mark -- Congratulations!!! Tell us all the details: what engine?, what colors?, what options?.

Come on. Inquiring minds want to know.
