Looking at buying a 2000 40' Skater. What's the difference between a flat deck and classic deck? Are the newer models layed up any different and are the bottoms the same? I have a 36 Spectre right now and the boat has a small porpoise range that is no big deal to me, does the 40 have any bad issues? I know OSO has some Skater experts!

The bottom of the 40's are pretty much all the same. There are a fer different tunnels (v or flat) and a few different notches, your best bet would be to call Skater and speak to Pete about your particular boat

Pete has a nice one. It's older than you are talking about but a very nice boat. It has always been a pleasure boat.

Bruce has a few 40' Skaters also and he can work a trade on your boat.
