pick a date...lemme know! i'm in for sure! i'm headin to torch tomorrow (4th). should be interesting. i've never been there but heard the sand bar is the perfect place for a 25 yr old male....or any age male for that matter! 
if any of you are gonna be down there tomorrow call me and let me know. i'd like to meet up! not sure where i'm putting in yet. i come down from charlevoix.

Pick a date I may be able to make it, I'v been wanting to come up there for about four years now, I've just never made the trip. I just bought 10 acres over in Bellaire last fall so I should probably go check on that anyway...Right?

Well I spent the weekend in Traverse City this weekend seeing some friends. We went to Torch Lake on Saturday, we did not have the boat but we drove around the perimeter of the lake. I am still speechless! Wow that area of Michigan is simply amazing. All the bays on Lake Michigan and the beautiful blue waters of Torch. I am hooked. We loved the rolling hills and scenic landscape. I think there might be a move in the future for the family.
I need some info of wear is a nice resonably priced place to stay on or near Torch. We are coming up the 2nd weekend in August and bringing our 28' Checkmate. Where is a good place to launch the boat. The laucn near the sandbar and the launch at Alden look kind of small. Any suggestions?? Looking forward to seeing everyone up there in a couple weeks!!!

We stayed at the Torch Bay Inn over the 4th in Eastport which is at the North end of the lake. Small motel and nothing fancy at all but it was only a few blocks from a launch on 3rd street. The launch was just one pier but got deep quickly and didn't get crowded.
You could also look for lodging in Elk Rapids.

Torch River Resort LLC, 231-322-4444 The same guy owns the Torch River Marina that is across the street. It is at the south end of Torch, Resturants, Party Store and Launch is within a block. If you get a room he will let you use the Marina Launch and possibly hook you up with a slip. Tell them Josh G. sent you. Good Luck
