I went to the site yesterday. The diving board stuck out no more than 4 feet from the waters edge at about a height of 4-5 feet above the water line. I have no idea what this guy was doing so close to shore. If he didnt hit the board he was in line to hit some underwater rocks and then shore within 500'. There was no place for him to go, he had to have been totally confused as to his whereabouts on the lake. He left Bolton's public docks which are about 1000' to the north and headed due south instead of heading out into the main part of the lake. He was running parrallel to shore about 3 feet off the shore line.

the kid went to warrensburg highscool, i used to play against him in football and baseball, he was an pretty good kid, he must have been drinking because he wasnt stupid enough to be where he was and think it was alright, its really too bad

Ski boat in close sounds like someone may have been showing off or possibly doing a dock start .. We used to do this before they made them illegal .. Tragic non the less :(
