Yes, it's a floating lift. Ropes won't work. If I used them and the boat slipped back, those ropes would be too tight to undue. Plus I don't want to count on ropes to hold the boat from sliding again or streching, breaking.
I either need stops or put the carpet back on. The plastic boards were installed to do away with the wet carpeting. Looking for fixes others did that had the same problem. |

I have a second set of boards built up to make up for the step. I have them stopping 12" before the step so not to chance damaging the edge of the step when the lift is coming up.
