Re: Boat sliding on lift questions

Yes, it's a floating lift. Ropes won't work. If I used them and the boat slipped back, those ropes would be too tight to undue. Plus I don't want to count on ropes to hold the boat from sliding again or streching, breaking.
I either need stops or put the carpet back on. The plastic boards were installed to do away with the wet carpeting. Looking for fixes others did that had the same problem.

MY BUDDY IS ON ROUGH PART OF LOTO(AS IF THEY ARE NOT ALL ROUGH) WITH A QUAD-STEPPED HULL. HIS FLOATING LIFT HAD BLACK RUBBER PADS TO ACCOMODATE EACH OF THE STEPS IN THE HULL. LOOKED LIKE STAIR STEPS ALMOST. HE SIMPLY PUT BOAT OVER THE LIFT WHEN IT WAS DOWN WHERE IT NEEDED TO BE IN THE SLIP AND MARKED IT ON THE DOCK WHERE EACH STEP STARTED AND STEPPED UP AGAIN AND CUT THE RUBBER PADS ACCORDINGLY. THIS IS THE MOST SUITABLE FOR STEPPED HULLS REGARDLESS DUE TO THE STRINGERS HAVING LESS PRESSURE OF ALL THE WEIGHT IN ONE AREA.

Re: Boat sliding on lift questions

I have a second set of boards built up to make up for the step. I have them stopping 12" before the step so not to chance damaging the edge of the step when the lift is coming up.

Thanks
