If that thing is knocking and you can get away with just putting bearings and an oil pump in it your doing a lot better than I ever have. I would think you would get a rod and possibly a crank. Keep us updated.

duksrule, where do you boat? I beleive there is a 342 at the Boatel....yours? You need to join our boat club. Go to http://www.hrpa.homestead.com/homepage.html and hit the join button. We now have 84 boats and knowledgable owners who can be very helpful. ;)

I am a member there. Just joined a week or so ago. I just got the boat back from Florida on Friday then with the rain Saturday, Sunday was the first day out. I was out in the sound when the motor went. I live in Pungo.
