Well took the Apache out for her first run today. All I can say is I HAVE BEEN MISSING THIS FOR YEARS with my other boat. OH MAMA! That was the best ride I have ever had! Eats up chop like nothing, eats up 2-3 footers with hardly any movement in the cabin at all. This thing is the chit! :evilb:
I cant stop smiling, Its just the most awesome ride, 2-3 footers and it does not even go bump, just eats em up. I LOVE IT.
Okay enough of acting like a girl.
On with the pictures but before that,
The Donz, Mike Jr, RChevelle71 Thank you ALL for helping me with all of this today, Truly from the bottom of my heart, I really appreciated everything today.

Nothing negative to say today at all well besides MAN THIS THING CAN DRINK SOME FUEL!
But that Ill get used to. The 3 blade props were good, Came right up with minimal blow out and hardly any cavitation at all. Nice and solid but The Donz did the prop slip calculator and im up around the 22-25% slipage area so a 4 blade cleaver will greatly improve that. Have to look for a set at some point. Okay On with the pics (Rick, Frank and Mike have more action shots, Since I was driving all day my wife thought the buildings in West Palm Beach were more interesting than the rooster tail we were throwing but thats okay I put her azz to work at the fuel dock!!!!

At the storage yard getting ready to head to the ramp. She was washed up right after these pics were taken.
Last pic you see the storms rolling in as per usual down here in South Florida in the early afternoons, We had to hunt high and low to find high test, finally found it at the Palm Beach Yacht Center in Lantana. Bobby, this is why we did not meet up with you guys, we were hunting for fuel and the two georges and the delray texaco did not have high test. Only 89 and well ahhh THAT AINT HAPPENIN, Not putting that garbage in my babys gut, no way! So for about 1 1/2 hours we were hitting every fuel dock in south Palm Beach looking for high test. Had a wonderful shower to drive through but it finally cleared up after about half hour, Man Rain STINGS when you are running about 60!!!

I left you a message, we came in Boca Inlet at 1PM and you weren't there. The weather started to get crappy so we ran back home. How come you didn't fill it up on land? You can get 93 by our house. Looks good!

Nope, Got the one I wanted, Higher side of mild engines, (ones that dont need a rebuild every 50 hours) and honestly this thing with 4 blades would be alot faster for the slip is way up there but im content with an 80-85 or so (might be a little faster if I can get the slip % down considerably)

Rick driving the Apache

I have to say Herb Stotler can build an engine!!! THese things are so mild mannered at docks and such but MAN the headers and dry pipes are so loud the restaruant we stopped at (Banana boat in Boynton Beach) the band stopped playing when we pulled in and everyone clapped and were saying yeah im looking at my wife and said F em! We have an APACHE!
The Donz said when we left when I fired these things up some woman got scared and freaked out, was all spooked. HEHEHEHEHEHE
I LOVE IT! I have a pair of sick little twins back there in the bilge thats for sure. I took some video of it back at the storage yard Ill make that and post it up tomorrow, Definitely COOL, You can hear these blowers whine like an SOB!
I am VERY happy with the purchase of this boat and she exceeds everything I had in my head that she would do out in the ocean. Hell I dont have to pull the sticks back going over 6 foot cruiser and yacht wakes anymore. (Thanks Frank for teaching me that Apaches and CIgs dont need to lift to get over those things like the Baja did)
Just an awesome day A DAY WHICH WILL LIVE IN IMFAMY!~
At least in my mind it will.

THIS THING ROCKS!!!!!!!!

Ill have to scout out a Gas Station that I can pull a 73 foot long truck and trailer combo in. Sorry about that, And yes we were so far north, we went out the palm beach inlet and came back in through the boynton inlet (scariest inlet down here and the boat was PERFECT through there) You guys get wet? We all got soaked out the ying yang, Julie was smart, climbed in the cabin and laid down nice and dry. (COuld never say that about the old boat, lay down while we are running 60 in the ICW (shhhh dont tell the cops))

NExt time, Ill get fuel on land so this does not happen but I might take it down to the Boca Airport and put AV gas in it. Should run alot better then anyway and its cheaper to get AV gas than High Test on land, They buy fuel in bulk and like oil for heating a house, its predetermined. Have to see what their rate is and maybe Ill just jump down there and fill up and come back up for Linton is right there. Might be the way to go and im sure the boat will not have an issue with 100 octane!

About 60 or so gallons!
Kurt, This is the $HIT!!!! Knowing the EXACT boat I used to have and having just about the same boat I have now, You on here are the only one I know that realizes the HUGE HUGE HUGE difference between the boats. This is very sensitive to Trim, Plane angle, everything the other boat was not. I could not even trim my other boat, the prop bite was so extreme that if I just bumped the drives up it would porpoise all over the GD place. Tabs Those Bennetts, Completely useless on my old boat. Horrible.
Ike, My offshore mentor, You were 100% correct, Once you go indian, There is nothing else you could ever want.

Re: NOW i know why Apaches are so highly regarded!!!!! First run, FLAWLESS!!!

Thats an understatement. If my old boat ran 1/4 as good as this did in the ocean I would probably still have it.
Funny a few of the people at the resturant knew what it was, Some older gent said "Oh Wow, have not seen an Apache in a LONG time" Yeah thats right bubba! Still solid as a Rock too! Ill just Whew, Have to get used to all these people staring and oogling and eye humping my boat now!

WOOHOO I OWN A 41 APACHE!!!

Life IS GOOD! Im still smiling and cant stop! I want to bag work and go to the yard, go get it and go take it out again!
Fred, Jay's big adventure is pure Apache! Tabs down, drives in, the freakin bow does not really rise on you on take off, get it up to around 2800 and she will then blow out and jump to 3400, back down to 3000 and she hooks and you can hammer it. Tabs up, drives out a touch at a time, bumps the front up each bump of the switches, and bam you are just hauling, My GPS takes 10-15 seconds for the speed to catch up so its hard to determine exact speeds at ? RPM's when you are running REALLY Fast in the intra coastal where the speed limit is 30 HEHEHEHEHEH
Okay so I did that a few times :stupid: Oh well whatever.
CJeff, Bud, This you have GOT to see and run to believe. Whats awesome is these engines are not even turned up that much, Low boost, great HP and she pulls hard even with alot of prop slip.
I definitely bought the right boat for me, Absolutely made the right decision!
Do I sound like the apache poster boy yet? LOL

Hey Buddy !

Glad to hear all went well. I remember my first ride last year on Father's Day in 4 - 5 footers and how well it handled........

Best of continued luck and keep us posted on your progress as you begin tweaking your beast !

It is funny how when you dock this boat so many people seem interested in it without the flash paint jobs and trick interiors....just oozes old style class and history.

The boat ran great Jay. Next time we go out we'll take our 4 blade props so we can test it with those. The boat ran great, great oil pressure , temp everything was awsome. Like dad and i said get use to the staring and i know how much you hate that :D . It's been a long road for you but I TOLD YOU it would be worth it in the end. We went to Banana boat and almost had four 60 plus yr old lady fall into the water when he started those puppy up....now tell me Jay how do you really feel about that. Congrats again and both myself and SR are really happy for you. Welcome to the big dogs gang. Thanks for the invite.....Do i hear Peanut Island soon realll sooon :drink: :drink: :drink:

There hows that guys? No I was nervous at first, you know, buy an expensive item and you dont want to F it up. So being careful is what the name of the game is.
Having someone teach me the proper way to drive and handle this thing (she is BIG) is what I needed, Frank, Mike, Thanks again SOOO much for the help and all the instructions. Fantastic teacher! I think the beer at dinner got me to calm down a little bit for on the way home to the ramp I seemed to get the hang of it like you guys said.
Mike, My friend, You are right, Big dawg league is right. That old canary that dropped her drink and almost had a heart attack I felt bad but honestly, You see us getting on, we are about 8 feet away from you so what did you expect? You come to a place with a huge dock that boats pull up at, WELL! Some are louder than others (heheh I love dry pipes)
Look out world, hear me ROAR!
You guys are welcome anytime you want, just say the word. Thanks for the help with the lines too bro!
