There is another run in area that is $750 (not in the NYC area), plus slip rental, $200+ for the hotel room, two tanks of fuel etc. The fuel bill would be $1500 alone...

Well call me disrespectful! I WAS in the middle of the channel about 1/2 a mile north of the George Washington Bridge (not anchored) on my 50' Bretram so the poker runners could get close up video footage. I had several camera men as well as a gentleman from Powerboat Digest covering the run.

The board seems to be more about complaining and passing judgement lately. Because of this we've turned the spotlight onto ourselves. People on the outside are looking in and putting the brakes on events like poker runs.
