With the pully on it now it made 848 at 6000 w/8.5 psi.With the smaller pully it made more

Just wanted to ask a question about fuel.
I've got a 525 efi and it calls for 89 octane and that is what I use. My question is would there be any advantage to using a higher octane or would it just be a waist of money. Also - would a higher octane be harmful?
