Default Hampton roads boaters I have a ????

Does anyone know what the deal is with the 2 bridges and the locks on the intercoastal between waterside and Pungo? Northlanding and Centerville are the bridges and then they Greatbridge locks.

I read on a sign at one of the bridges that the last opening is at 6pm. Is this correct? Are you trapped on one side or the other at night? If so this sucks as my plan was to play at waterside and then go home to Pungo at night through the locks. Now I will have to trailer the boat to Chesapeake.

Anyone know the scoop or a way to get from one end to the other at night?

Your options are....run down to Oregan Inlet and back up the Intracoastal...NOT. Or get a slip for the night at Waterside, Tidewater Yacht or Ocean Marine.

Make a night of it! And alert the HRPA via email. There are always other members doing the same.

That seems like a load of crap that they close those items. I could see them opening less but to close all together is bull. At least I have all the comforts of home on the boat and can stop at the cove or somewhere. I have no desire to trailer the boat home from the locks after a long day of "boating"

I have got to start meeting some of the HRPA members. I will be down at waterside this weekend. Is that bar still on the roof of Tidewater Yacht? It has been about 5 years sinse I sold my last boat and did any running around down there. Trying to ease back into things.
