Just a thought.......

Maybe RR had MORE than 1550's in her. As stated, she never had her hatch open. We know they have bigger motors. Do you really think they would have come there to do all that with less than the BEST THEY HAD ??

People seem real quick on kickin' SR over the "pump Gas" and "pulley" issue saying no way he came with less than the best.

Randy Kent, Dave Scott and Dave Callan are all professional racers. That said, I have no problem betting my best lab-finished prop that the boat set-up for each and every one of these guys would be a night and day difference from a Poker run setup and an all out race setup.
Furthermore, The setup to compete, finish and win, an offshore race would be much different than the setup for a Kilo record, or say, ' beating someone to the first turn'
I respectfully suggest that the next race has Rio Roses in the same start with Dave Callan, Dave Scott, and any other internal combustion engine cat that wants a piece of Reggies' so called "cat killer". Then we'll see who takes the World Kilo Record, (if it is a true UIM timed record) in NC, then let Reggie come to the Shootout and go for the "Top Gun" award.
Video can be edited, and this banter could go on forever.
I say, let's see em head to head in a true controlled environment. Best of luck to all, and all come back safe.

There is only 10 days left before the deadline to be paid and registered for the KILO.

Can anyone show me where the information and registration is for the KILO? What is the entry fee ?

I see they finally posted the Racers Packet, but no mention of the KILO fees or registration paperwork that I saw. Only for the Race itself... Did I miss it somewhere?

RR had 1550s in Jax...they are in Joey Griffin's shop...one is being freshened as it ran hot in Jax. RR had the "little"engines for Sarasota...they were testing them on friday am on the Pamlico when a pulley shaft broke...I was told they pulled the boat to Sarasota and repaired it there but the same part broke again
For any cats or anyone thinking about coming to the Kilos in NC to challenge Reggie be ready....they have some huge hp mills and supposedly more than one set

Re: speed racer and cat boys

the only true comparison would be to run a cat and a v with the same HP engines, same drives and @ or near the same weight. My money would be on the cat.

You could make a brick go fast if you put enough hp behind it...

There are no rules on HP. Have the cats go to NC on Aug 4th with what ever power. :drink:

Re: speed racer and cat boys

If they are going to treat it like a race, then you run what you bring. Its the entire package. I am a believer that if you can put more power in a brick, and are nervy enough to run it out, then more power to you :D You could go out and find a same weight mti and fountain, with the same power and drives and tell which one is faster, but it is a lot more fun to see a bunch of dudes empty their wallets for boats that cost more than my house, competing to see who can nowhere the fastest. :drink: No offense intended by that comment, as it is very fun to see anything tearing up the water at 170plus mph.

Why not put two bricks together so you'll have a cat brick... then it would be faster :D . I really don't think that the owners of these boats care about a "true comparison". The only thing that matters is... who is faster today, and what does the record book say :evilb: :evilb: :evilb: I am anxious to see what happens in August.
