HOWEVER - If I was starting a race team. Rio Roses would do nicely.

I'm with you on that one bro.

but, most everyone agrees the whole Cat Killer deal was a marketing tool. Fountain chose to market a canopied raceboat vs. an open cockpit pleasure boat (no matter how fast it is) to increase sales.

Had he done that in one of his pleasure boats, (IE the poker run series 42, which I like), it would have been the option and far more impressive to most of the buying public.

One problem there....The 42 poker run Fountain would've never come close to beating SR!

Exactly. :drink:

Full canopied MTI raceboat (Bud Select or the like) vs. Rio Roses Raceboat

or

Open cockpit 42 Poker Run ( their fastest production boat?) vs. open cockpit Speed Racer

Apples to Apples.

Yep the 42 PR like buyafountain had in KW or the 47 PR edition with the 6 bolsters. I love that boat. Now that could have sold some boats.

No reason why he couldn't have done it that way either. He's got the $.
