Great idea!! :eureka:
But I think the floor should have been a little bit higher, so the drives were at a comfortable level. And make the opening taller. I'd hate to back it in far enough to hit the hull or sun pad.

That's actually pretty cool - but can you open the engine hatch like that?? If you could it would make it wasy to run on the hose, change fluids, etc.

Don't back up too far.

I can just imagine the backing in process, "Keep it coming, c'mon, you're good!" (large crashing noise) Long silent pause........then a voice, "Ok, about 4 more feet and you're good!! Keep it coming!" :evilb: :evilb: :evilb:

The top of the opening is actually the bottom of a shelf and you couldnt get a hair off a fleas a$$ to fit between the shelf and the sun deck...its a tight fit, but it works. We are installing the wood for the siding today.

We will post more pictures of progress.

I did something similar last week. The last 12 feet of my garage it separated into a work shop. I couldn't back a 20 foot boat in a 40 foot long garage. I cut a hole for the drive, and it fits like a glove. I even made the enclosure in the shop look like a big cooler. :)

I raised the garage roof 3' and extended it 35' so my boat would fit.

if you have ever cut a hole in your garage to make your boat fit, you just might be a red neck.

I would have to move mine out towards the street since the family room is behind the back wall of the garage. I am about 8 feet short for the boat with the drive and trailer to fit.

KCHOTBOAT, could you do a temporary car port in front of the garage? It would at least keep it out of the weather...

Wish I could. The city sends me mail if the boat is on the driveway for more than 48 hrs.
