Anyway, the motors are yanked right now... I actually put it up for sale due to the insurance deal... but I'm thinking about just keeping it and not going with the insurance. Ah... I did not see your signature until now. That sounds great! I am building a house as we speak... When the boat is done, then I'll keep in at my house (dock behind my house) But right now it is in storage. Shoot me a PM with your phone number and I'll give you a call.

Go with John Campbell at ALLIANCE,He is based in Florida and his policy has the best coverage for your area.

if your not going to have insurance, get an umbrella policy and take the rest and put it in a money market account until you need it for repairs, etc.

THE 51 OL is insured for approximately $ 500,000 and the hurricanes will be in NEW JERSEY and NEW YORK SHORTLY ACCORDING to ALLSTATE INSURANCE COMPANY.

I had a deal worked out with a marine insurance co. to give all OSO members a good deal but the thread got poofed for some reason. It's to bad because members were really saving.

From the sounds of your houses taxes I am going to assume you have some assets you would like to protect. You shouldnt be worried as much of the boat value but should be worried about the liability portion of your insurance. Accidents happen and you dont want to lose your savings, house, and future savings over it. An umbrella policy will not cover your boat accident if your boat is not insured, I know because I have both. Your umbrella policy will make you raise all your liability insurance on everything you own if you want them to cover you for the amount that would run over. I would look into tweaking your insurance so you could maybe just get liability and take the risk on the boat. My 2 cents.
