A Donzi 38 ZR pushes 90+ w/ 525's, I don't see the attraction here. This guy had to spend an ADDITIONAL $200K to get happy. I would be burned, or is everyone in California got that much $ ?

I remember a PB article that had a Top Gun and a Donzi 38 ZR pushing 100 plus with naturally aspirated engines.

Semper Fi, is correct. Dragon did NOT rig the boat originally. CB used another shop for that. Which I should point out he no longer uses. I don't like to air dirty laundry publicly. Semper is right I kept the issue quite. What good would it have done to ***** and moan on the board?

I had two options, sell the boat, or do a complete rerig and fix the numerous problems it had. I love the boat, I had no intention of selling it. So for fun I decided to repower the boat.

Thank you very much OldSchool. If you were not so far away I would ask you to come out and ride with me in the Catalina Ski Race this Saturday.

Thanks again. :D

If you have been around boat long enough, every manufacturer has a boat or two that has gremlins. That is just boating. As for the VI Drives, they are bullet proof. I was not willing to use a Teague Platinum drive and have to baby the boat.....

So, again, thank you for your kind words.

Eric

I remember this was the first article I read from this months issue of PB And from at least the standpoint from which it was written it stated that you were so "frustrated " that you were going to give up boating completly just because your boat didnt deliver what you thought it should. If that were me being "frustrated" that much would mean pissed off. If you got more money than brains then you got what you deserved by not sea trialing your boat and finding out it didnt perform to your expectations before you ever paid for it. It is a nice looking boat and im glad it performs the way you want it to now but for what you spent (both boat and rerigg) you could have had a boat that ran 120 out of the box. (just my 2 cents enjoy)

Thank you Stormrider. I really appreciate it. Besides if I would have bought an Outerlimits I would would have spent the same amount of money in total.

I am just a squirrel trying to get a nut compared to that Apache. Which, I might add is BADD AZZ. That guy is the King of Big Ballers. :D

No bash intended here, but maybe 90mph wasn't enough for him either. 120+mph is very impressive IMO.

He now has a boat that is FAST and bullet proof.
