If one calls NASCAR and tells them that they would like to try to set the lap speed record at Daytona...................and promises to race the rest of the year after that - how would that be received?

A UIM Kilo record is as prestigious record as there is in my book - but I'm sorry, there has to be some form of qualification to "go for it".

Phantom, I understand and agree on your points, remember I been in a race or 3 myself.

My point is since the "Cat Killer" thread evry Fountain butt kisser has been saying "run what you brung" at the Kilo and we will see who's fastest.

It doesn't seem they were telling the "whole truth" about the event now. That, or Reggie decided to "improve" the rules after the "Cat Killer" fiasco........

I was the one that said " run what ya brung" in the whos coming to fountain race in NC, I did'nt know you had to have a race boat to enter. I do have a fountain, but I kiss no ones azz, I have not posted on the cat killer threads at all,but for the record I think it was a CHEAP shot by reggie. I don't care whos the fastest boat,I just like speed and boats.

No prob Rush, you may be the one that said "run what you brung", but a lot of others said it in different words when calling out the "pleasure" cats.

I really wasn't singling anyone out, just the Fountain cheerleaders which you certainly don't seem to be.

I have to agree with you about the cheerleaders, a lot of them make the rest of us look bad.

At first glance that seems like a lot of money, and not very fair.

But I can only imagine what expenses Reggie incurrs to make this happen, from support, permits, safety boats, divers, helocopters, etc and so on.

I think it is great that a manufacture like himself loves the sport enough to make something happen like this for all of us to enjoy.

We were at the 2001 show and had a wonderful time at Reggie's expense and I don't even own a Fountain. He put on one heck of a good time!

Reggie is a hell of a guy and this sport / hobby could use a lot more like him.

Like him or hate him, "You have to respect him".

Thanks Reggie, we'll see you in Washington.

Trying to confirm.

I guess that's one way to keep someone from skinning the "Cat Killer".

It's gotta be woth 10k for SOMEONE to beat Reggie in his own backyard ?????

I am impartial, either way, to who's the fastest.... But, I must say ---- if Reggie (or anyone) want's to race someone (anyone), at those speeds, this is the place to do it ----- not on a poker run (where all of our insurance guys are already fighting to keep us insured for the events).

Ok.... so I might be a little bit partial ------------
Go get'em Speed....or JT! (and everyone have a safe ride)

We're go-fast boaters.... What do you expect. The sail boaters have been saying that about all of us for years!
