Has anyone has any problems recently (last 1-2 yrs) boating from S. Florida Southward thru the Keys or to KW? We've made that run numerous times in one of my 38's I owned at different points in time and I'm wondering if I was "lucky" staying in Hawk's Channel or is it fairly safe (and is there a difference being caught there broken down, boating by yourself or boating after dark).

FYI - We are heading back in a couple weeks... So, I'm interested in your feedback.

In U.S. waters you are likely fine.

My position is that 3 guys in the cockpit holding AR-15's with scopes is a pretty good deterrent.........

I am leaving next week with FPC on the Bahamas run, last year went to Bimini and had an uneventful trip.
However a couple of tourists were beaten to death like 2 weeks after we left Bimini. Burglary gone bad deal, tourists were staying at Bimini Blue Water and were Norwegian I believe.
