OT - Bought New Truck!!!
#11
Schweeeet! BUT, I am getting damn sick and tired of all of these "New Tow Vehicle" posts by everyone but me! I am going to test drive the 2002 Sierra Denali this afternoon. I will either have a new truck next season, or have Skater hook me up with some serious upgrades to mine by Spring.

11-12mpg ? Towing right ? If not, how can you
daily drive something like that unless you work across the street !
It sounds like an awesome truck though... the
Fords look really good black with black tinted windows

Thanks some more!
26scarab, Nope, that's unloaded. It's really not that bad, considering what I've become accustomed to. Besides, I only drive 25 miles a day...

Congrats Baja!! As far as the black paint issues. I've worked @ dealerships for the past 10 years-(currently at home mom). There is something called a Sealant(not clearcoat). There are several products available-dupont teflon/silicone.....Get one ONLY from a Dealership. But don't pay more than $100-$150 for a combo of interior/exterior seal. Can be put on leather or cloth interior.Dealer cost is b/w $17-$60 either way.
They wax it on (basically). It helps w/ the oxidation process, BUT will NOT prevent damage from SaltWater. Nothing acidic either. Black is one color that is prone to more oxidation therefore, I highly recommend it. You'll see the in a couple of years if you don't get it or do vs. those who don't get it. Put it this way-I've put it on all my vehicles, have 2 kids, no stains (except for red drinks, and you DO NOT have to wax your car-for @ 5 yrs. Still looks shiny & new. Just wash, spray the tires w/ armor all & your car looks like the day you bought it. Most carry gaurantees re: the stains-don't know how that would apply to people in Florida/Saltwater prone areas. Check w/ your dealers & let me know.
Also, you should get a spray on liner-over the rails, too. Try and find a TOFF dealer. I don't recommend Line-x.

Damn,Troutly you could pull the house off its foundation with that setup..I to have a 2001 F-250 Crewcab V10 4x4 LB and love it.It pulls my 22zx Donzi effortlessly, sometimes I forget it`s back there on the Interstates.
