Re: Fast Little Boat

Thats what I said , Hydrostream or Action , here is mine running in the 90's on the cav plate , not even the step. It's a 235 , Changed the cowling decals to try to avoid problems. The transom plate rates it @ 145 hp max, johnson made a 150 v6. Stock powerhead , above the water exhaust cut into the lower and a 30p chopper had it in the mid 90's. Had to drive it like it was chine walking, back and forth with the wheel. Let off the gas too fast and the thing was all over the place, had to throttle down slow.

Yup thats a hydrostream.. The guy is WAY overplaying the skill required to drive one at speed.. Ive seen high nineties in a 17 foot hydrostream and its not like balancing on a 2x4 on a bowling ball.. Its just alot of wheel jerking and trim. Cool video except for the narrative

Right on the head! If you never drove a fast boat like this it does take some getting used to. I let a friend drive it once that had a action with a 150 on his , this was a shocker for him . Jerking the wheel back and forth freaked him out so he jumped off the gas and the bow went straight up. I yelled punch it , he did and it flattened out like that. Can be a scarry ride but fun too!
