Destin OSO Party
 

I was gonna see about puttin together an OSO party in Destin ...

I need to find out how many OSOers are gonna be there. I know roughly the number of racers .. but need an approximate count of us "regular" folks are gonna be there to know what size place Im lookin for.

Also, knowing how early the racers and crew have to get up early on Saturday morning, would ya rather the party be Friday eveningish or Sunday night after its over ... maybe coordinating it with the awards?

Things are looking good for us making it to Destin. We're looking at arriving sometime Wednesday and departing Monday. We're driving instead of flying in so we'll be retiring early Sunday night in order to get an early start Monday.

Earlier this year I was making plans to come there, but my trip to Ireland puts a small wrinkle in it. Too bad, my friend owns the Stingray dealership there and I would of had free room and board along with meals and maybe even some fuel :drink: I thought it was such a great place, I tried to get a job there and move earlier this year (no luck on that). Hope you all have fun!

Ok .. sounds like the party will need to be Friday. For the drivers to be able to make their drunk tests on Saturday morning we'll need to start around noon :D .. or maybe 6. Ill see what I can find and set up a buffet or something ... maybe Mr. Haggan or Popeyes can help me with that.

Yey Dawn, I will be in Destin this year too. Let me know what I can do to help. I think we might be there for a whole week. Not sure yet.

Does anyone have any info on the races there? I can't seem to find anything on the OSS site and I have checked the City of Destin's site and the races are not even on their calendar. I usually have my Key West trip already booked by now and I would like to get the ball rolling on booking Destin. Any info would be great!

I thought it was different. Dawn and other yankee members don't realize that one of the largest poker runs in the country is going on there this month. C'mon guys - y'all come down anyway!!! They still have Molson, or Labatt's or whatever y'all drink up there!!! :D

LOL - Jack for me please ...and yes they are having a poker run in Destin this month ... but Im working on a party during the OSS/OPA Worlds. I do realize there are lots of OSO members that will be going to Key West (and I do love Key West) but I go to boat races for the races .... and the best racin will be in Destin :cool:

Mrs P (Donna) stated a fact .. unless your on the poker run in KW, you arent gonna see the poker run... and since I have no invite to that ... but I do have an invite to Destin ... Ill be in Destin ... plannin a party :p

So, would the race be in the harbor or out in the gulf? I would like to know as soon as possible so I can get a room on the race course. We have a big group from Kansas going and we want rooms together. Could an OSS person please chime in here and give the fans some details?

I'm capable of passing out twice in the same day - I've seen me do it.

Something tells me Tony (THRILLSEEKER) should be my wingman on this little adventure. I've only met him once in KW in '04, but I thought I met my twin liver - I mean brother.

Honestly ... Ive been hearin some rumors/truths that have me a bit bummin. Im gonna find out whats fact and whats fiction next weekend in Maryland. May have to see if Smitty will let me "address" the drivers .... I need a show of hands from them :D
