Re: My friend's boat sank at the dock!
You may want to call the insurance company before you do anything. I have a friend who's boat sank at the dock. He intervened without calling insurance. Two years later and lots of headaches, uncertainty, lawyers, and court time finally got it settled.

Maybe best to leave it sunk as long as possible to insure a total loss?

Update:
When I returned to the marina yesterday, his bow was floating but the arch was under, the marina pulled the boat forward a little to prevent it from going under the dock, it was a ugly sight! My buddy called the insurance company yesterday, they are going to be present when it's raised and hauled this morning. I took a few pictures with a film disposable, I'll get them on ASAP! |

Re: My friend's boat sank at the dock!
This boat is shot, not only is she completely under salt water, she is leaking fuel and oil which is being contained by an floating absorbent boarder. The tide has been up and down so all the oil and gas is all over and thru the boat.
One big problem we are having, a few weeks ago, we had a really bad lighting storm, it fried all the electronics on transient sail boat, plus in the same row a good number of power boats found their batteries and charges fried and breakers and fuses popped. One guy discovered both bilge pump breakers popped, my friend's boat was in that line, maybe which ever way he took on water, his pumps never kicked on? |
