My friend's boat sank at the dock!
Got a call at my office a little while ago from a friend at my marina, told me he found his boat sunk at the dock (30' fairly new cruiser type) this morning. I'm only a few minutes away, when I got there, the water was over the sides of the cockpit, she was sitting on the bottom, low tide on it's way up, there was a crew there with the pumps going. I jumped in the water stuffed some towels under his transom door, but the tide beat us out, it's gone, she will be under most of today in about 8' of water. We'll have to wait until tonight to get her floating, what a shame!
Don't know the cause yet. |

I/O's or inboards? Sounds like a thru-hull went, or maybe a bellows.

I/O's ... I'm thinking bellows too, I helped him wax his boat at the beginning of the season, I have a habit of checking the thru hulls when I walk around a boat, especially the plastic ones. |

Thinking bellows too ... sorry to hear :( :( Get ready to pull motors and diesel flush if there's any chance to salvage. :(
