Even if the chopper is $1400 and the photographer is $500, with 10 boats it's not that much.

It's $1400 per hour for a turbine about $300 per for piston.

Not going to get 10 boats for the run, I hope we do but I don't think it will happen. I have so many air shots from when John was alive anyway and the white chip is still a white chip. There is a guy from Allaire but he won't fly over the water in his little piston copter. If you get one from Princeton or south NJ you need to make sure he has the range to make it all the way to kings point and back. There are a few around the NYC area but expect to pay $700 an hour for them. The kid wanted a copter ride for his b-day, decided on the little cat instead.

Got a guy who will do $1800 for the photography and $350 hr for a piston chopter. He thinks he'll need 2.5 hrs in the chopper ($875) for a total of $2865 w/tax. With a min. of 6 boats it would be $477 per boat. He would use a 16.7 mega pixel camera with a image stabilizer and gyro stabilizer on the camera and we own the images.

Another photographer will do it for $500 but without the fancy $12K camera, then we need to get the copter separately.

I guess it's up to all of us to decide but I need to let the guy know today.

That's 1/2 your gas budget, in 1 run you're going to blow your entire Aug budget. Did you also hear they want to raise $5k for Joey's Charity.

Say "theoretically" there are two runs going on at the same time. Run A organizes it to have the helo out there taking photos. Run B comes through the area so helo starts taking pics of all the boats (knowing they are separate runs). What would be a fair price to pay for a photo if you were on Run B?
