So I've finally found a 30 Shadow Cat for sale it's a 1990 needs a good amount of work, front floor is water damaged and floor needs replacing which is the major
repair needed. Seller is asking $18,500 with triple 2.5 Mercury on high jack plates, I send a inspector to see the boat personally all three engines run good and strong.

Name of the boat is Cat Attack. What do you guys think of their price? and ive heard rumor that the later shadow cats were not built of the same material as they were in the 80's boats as a result were considerably weaker hulls. Is there any truth to that?

The Shadow Cats of the 90's were built by a different team that the ones in the 80's, so there certainly could be some truth to the newer ones being weaker.

I think that is a fair price for the boat with 3 strong 2.5's. I think I know the boat as well. Is it white with red on it?

I attached a pic of the boat in the above thread, if anyone has any info on this boat please let me know I'd like to make an offer on it today if at all possible. Trying to decide between two boats for sale there is the shadow cat and I also found a 33 sport deck power play with triple 2.4 Merc's all on good running condition both boats are at the same price.

The 33 PP is an awesome boat. Too bad it has the old 2.4's. If it had the same motors as the Shadow I would say go with the PP. Tough choice here!

I'm not that familiar with the 2.4L but ive heard some of them had pretty substantial problems is that true? Sorry for my lack of knowledge on the O/B I have always had inboard boats for the past 15 years or so.

I assume these are the 2.4 high performance race motors and not a 200 hp 2.4? In any event, the motors are going to be 1991 or older. Basically timebombs on the back.

My Dad had a 30 Shadow with trip 2.4's. They rebuilt them every 2 races, but still had some problems
