Default Just bought a boat storage and maintenance business

Just bought a boat storage and maintenance business in Northern MI. Can you guys tell me what you are paying for indoor storage and how much you pay for winterizing your boats? His current pricing is the lowest in the county. I need to raise the prices, but I still want to be the least expensive.

Just looking for ideas and suggestions on how to provide quality service from those who are in the business or pay to have their boat stored and winterized. I have my own ideas, but I think it's good to hear from others.

Hey Mike,

I've been trying to find myself. I think. Too busy for boating. Hell, my boat is still in storage and hasn't been taken out once this summer. So I figured if I bought the company I might actually get on the water.

The previous owner was in the business for 30 years and is helping in the transition to help retain customers. It might be a full time gig or it may be more of a side business. Depends on how hard I want to chase work. Rumor is the only marina on the local lake is being sold for condos and that means 140 boats will need a place for storage and maintenance.

I kinda miss the ole place (OSO).

Hey Dockrocker. Anything interesting going on down there? You know Yzerman retired, right? I hope we get a team back this year.

I work for a number of similar businesses here in KY, and a few remote ones, in each case they come to me when there is a problem to solve, I help them solve it, and they become long term, highly profitable clients.

Call if you want to talk, no fee to chat............

Why do you want to be the cheapest? Price yourself fair and I am sure that the people will come with great service.

Not the cheapest, but the least expensive. I don't have the overhead the other marinas have, so I can be less expensive.

Agreed! Maybe Yzerman should come back and coach.

I believe heated storage here in Grand Haven is $5.95 a sq. foot. Where is your place located?
