"Parting out" opportunity
#1
I have been offered a 38 Fountain that was in a warehouse fire. The boat did not burn at all, but the heat above it made a mess of the top deck and cockpit. I know the owner very well and the hardware was maintained excellent until the boat was destroyed.
I'm trying to get an idea of what this thing is worth. Here are the salvageable parts, what are they worth if pulled and sold individually:
-2001 500EFI's, 250.3 hours never opened, maintained very well.
-2001 #4 speedmasters and transom assemblies
-2001 Huber 1250 transmissions
-4 blade "cleaver" style props. (not sure pitch, etc)
-380 K-planes and all mounting, controling hardware
-full to helm Hydraulic steering
-2001 white Eagle 3x trailer with spare (dealer costs was 12K in 2001)
-several trim pumps
-dry pipes, not sure what they are yet.
-Bolster seat frames, uphlostry is shot.
To my knowledge everything in the engine compartment didn't even get wet in the fire, the cockpit and cabin (door/ hatches were open) have either melted or sustained water damage beyond repair. Any ideas from the peanut gallery would be helpful. (how often are you going to hear that!!!)

I'd be interested in the bolster frames in you decide to buy and part out
Please email me at [email protected] if it goes through, thanks!

A friend of mine bought a burned 38 Fountain a couple of years ago from the insurance co and gave something like $5000 for the whole deal. He sold the HP500 for $1500 each (they had some heat damage to components). But the boat was more burned than your deal. I would bet if you offered them $8000 they would take it. You would certainly be in the money even at 10K I would think. The speed masters & transmissions should be worth a bunch.

The motors have never been opened or altered in anyway. Any buyer would be welcome to pull codes on the computers to verify condition.
