I have met Jeff from Speedwake and he is a cool guy. Had lots of cool boats and is sporting a 42 Outerlimits now.
The website is just a hobby for him/ labor of love not a breadmaker.

I think the used market will be good especially high end, New boats have jumped drastically. I agree with Blume after the loto shootout I dont see a slow down, just a ton of high end hardware, guess it is what area you are talking about but here it seems strong, gas is right at last years prices currently.

As i figured, there would be a few in denial,"everything is just great!"...Ya right. The boat market is in the tank, plain and simple, Of course you'll find a few exceptions, i'm sure the oil execs are buying new boats. I would hate to be a dealer sitting on large inventory.

Ya know I have gotta say the high end boat market is doing well or as good as it has been in the last few years. My local Fountain dealer has been selling 35 and 42 Ex Fountains like no tomorrow and the Fountain 38TE CC is sold out till next year. However it is way more expensive to own a boat these days. Gas prices have just about tripled..yes tripled since 2000 and insurnace in Florida ain't cheap that is IF you can get it.
Right now high end boats sales are still doing good but the future looks a little dull...we will se what happens.

Tazz, have a little optomism, stock market is up, gas is down under 2,50$ gallon, the economy is pretty good right now, I think new boat sales will be slow over the winter, but people who love boats have the money and will continue to spend money on their hobby's, what do you think is going to happen, everyone just sit around and watch tv for the next year, people work hard to have fun and boating gets in your blood.

boats are still selling. there just selling cheap compared to the past 5 years and its only going to get worse. i blame insurance companys more then gas prices :rolleyes: :mad:
