Re: lake texoma accident !!!
I find that it is always best to settle my mind down before posting on a tragedy such as this. I am stunned at the the level of loss...... 2 young children without parents, families torn apart, loved ones gone in an instant. I offer my deepest sympathies and my promise of helping in any way I can. I dont need to know these people personally .... they are/were members of the "family".
As for the whole poker run safety issue..... I dont know how much more we can collectively take before legislators step in. Out of repect for this thread I will save that discussion for another time. |
Re: lake texoma accident !!!
I am shocked and saddened, living life to the fullest has its risks, but where do you draw the line? This was a terrible accident, whatever happened, still an accident. My thoughts and prayers go out to all involved, and wishes for strength and peace for Bruce.

Re: lake texoma accident !!!
Does anyone know if the children left behind have been left in financially stable condition? The reason I am asking is, as many of you know I am a financial advisor with the largest financial institution in the world and would be happy to establish and administer (free of any costs or expenses) a fund for the benefit of these unfortunate children. If anyone has any information or if the membership here would like to pursue this idea, please let me know.
Possibly an OSO attorney could help me with any legal documents and filing that may be required. I just want to be able to help in some fashion. In situations like this, as hard as it is for the adult friends and family, my heart just bleeds for the little ones. |

Re: lake texoma accident !!!
Horrible, simply horrible. My deepest sympathy for those involved, their families and the two young children who are now parentless. Life can change in a instant, a milli second, a heartbeat. We have all seen it before, we will all see it again :(
Please hug your loved ones and tell them you love them. You just never know when it will be your last chance to do so. It takes 9 months to bring a life into existence, but only one brief, unplanned, accidental instant to end one. PLEASE BE SAFE OUT THERE. We all do what we do by choice, of our own free will. In doing so we accept certain risks and sometimes certain inevetabilties. We work hard, we play harder because it helps us feel alive. We entertain our selves with danger, its what we do, but we must always strive for safety for the sake of those we leave behind. Bruce, although we have never met, I offer my greatest hopes for your complete and speedy recovery, both physically and emotionally. Sean Rodrigue. |

Re: lake texoma accident !!!
I was sitting in a restaraunt with my family when I got the call a couple hours after this horrible tragedy occured. I have felt so sick since then, and haven't even been able to post anything. My prayers go out to all involoved. My heart aches for the ones who are left behind to deal with the instant loss of life. The Lanes whom were with Gordon left behind a 1yr old baby girl, and a 7yr old. As well as Will and Bruce losing their mother/wife, I just can't imagine the hurt. I have read this thread over and over and struggle with tears. I have never met either family, but as a family that this board creates I feel like we have lost some of our own blood.
Godspeed and R.I.P. Corey and Jenni |
Re: lake texoma accident !!!
Thanks Gino, for those of you that don't get it, being part of the OSO family is not about having a boat, it is about the love and SUPPORT of offshore boating. It also means being an active and contributing member and it means being around a while and posting some. It also means rallying around someone when support is needed, help when tech questions arise, and praise when someone deserves it. Because of the nature of our hobby a lot of us travel around to different venues, so that does help in getting to know members but it is not necessary. Unfortunately all to often when something controversial happens new or inactive members pop up and based on history it is often to stir the pot.
However there are exceptions like with JenniferKnot, but I think her intentions are quite clear and genuine and very welcome here. The OSO family wants to embrace the families involved in the tradgey on this thread, not point fingers, real OSO members know that. |

Thought's and prayers go out to all.
It's a tragic crash to such a happy gathering of people and machines. From what I've read on a lot of sites these people involved have touched a lot of lives. You all will see them soon when it's our turn to make our final trip. And wouder why we were so concered about this short amount of time we have on earth. Remeber them in happy thoughts! AL Smith |
Re: lake texoma accident !!!
Our prayers go out to the families and friends, we are all part of a family here on OSO that help each other and fellow boater's in need no matter what type of vessel they operate, so when one of own gets hurt or is in trouble we come together to help in anyway we can, that's the number one reason i joined and continue to support OSO.
once again we offer or prayer's and anything else we can possibly do for the families and friends, Will , Lori |

once again we offer or prayer's and anything else we can possibly do for the families and friends, Will , Lori Could'nt have said it better myself. That's why we will come together to help members that we have'nt met or know only from the board. Maybe if some of the newbys stick around long enough they will eventually figure this out. That's why I say that the OSO party during the Miami show at the Cleavlander is like a family reunion.....only with people that you like. Roger |
Re: lake texoma accident !!!
Our love and prayers go out to the Mineo, Lane and Gibson families. We knew all the persons that passed in this accident.
We pray for Bruce's recovery both physically and mentally. We pray for the healing of the hearts of countless loving friends. Gordon and Ann were dear friends, high school sweethearts, who did everything with love, courage, compassion and conviction over more than 30 years of marriage. All of these people were doing what they loved and will be mourned and missed indefinitely. Amy and Justin were friends of the Mineo's, not daughter and son in law as has been reported. Please do not add to this horrific tragedy by judging, speculating or posting any more info that only adds to the pain. We would ask that you pray for all involved, their families and friends, those that were at Texoma and those that have been touched through this forum. John & Janet Brunner |
