Re: lake texoma accident !!!
We also met Gordon and Ann at a poker run at Lake Eufalla a few years ago. We had a great discussion about his boat and the engineering behind it. They were a great couple that we enjoyed talking to, and am glad to have had the pleasure of meeting. My heart and prayers go out to the family of all involved, and God Bless and accept those who were lost.

Re: lake texoma accident !!!
I'm just speechless. I didn't make it to the run and got a call just after it happen asking if I seen anything. Been sick every since. Very sad day for the boating community. Prayer to all involved. If the kids need help, I'm sure oso will come through.

Re: lake texoma accident !!!
So Sad, my thoughts and prayers to all the families involved. Though I did not know anyone personally, they are still part of my extended OSO and performance boating family. :( I heard about this yesterday but just got back to my computer now.
It has been a tough week for the poker run community losing Outer42 and then this horrible crash. Please everybody take a deep breath, address the tragedies appropriately, and focus our attentions on the families and friends who need our support. |

My question to everyone is: All of the awful tragedies that have occurred over the last 2 years have one common thread... EXTREME SPEED (100mph+) What can we all learn from this and how can we change poker runs to help make them safer before they all get shut down?? I have been a poker run producer for 9 years and have never advocated speed limits. I do think it is time for us to put a limit on speed or for pace boats to be used for the entire duration of a poker run. I would like to hear other people's thoughts on how can we make our sport safer? |

Re: lake texoma accident !!!
Having had a chance to read the all af the condolences since Sunday morning I wanted to extended my offering of condolence to all of the friends and families involved and to wish Bruce a successful recovery. Only time can heal the wounds but there will always be a pain in the heart when you loose someone you care about.
I am new to the poker run world having been introduced to it by my wife, who her and her late husband were avid participants for many many years. I met Gordon and Ann last year thru my wife and appreciate how they made me feel welcome to the proker run family even though I didn't have one of the front running boats. After each event when I saw him he always asked if I had a good time. Gordon and Ann as well as Bruce's wife Myra will be missed by many many people as evidenced by the out pouring I have seen. My God Bless the families and friends and help ease the pain that all are feeling as a result of the tragic events which have taken place. |

[QUOTE=Sydwayz]I heard about this yesterday, and have had a nauseous knot in my stomach ever since. I am currenty at Smith Mountain Lake, VA; and some of the parties involved are well known and well liked in this area. It has hit VERY hard here. We here at the SML extend our very deepest condolences to EVERYONE involved with, and associated with this awful accident.QUOTE]
Brian is right this does hit hard... and close to home. We are so very sorry to be hearing sad news like this. Our prayers are with all of those involved. Jim & Patty Marsh PS: Don't let a few "agenda" driven soles break our focus on what is needed at this time. They only want to set their own personal agenda. We've seen these guys before...they are lurking among all tragedy...waiting to pounce. |

My deepest condolences to all the families and friends that have been affected by this tragic accident :( :( :(
A lot of things have been said by a lot of new members. Most were very well spoken and heartfelt by persons very close the families involved. My heart goes out to you. I've been a part of OSO since it started and it is like one big family. Family members may argue and disagree, but foremost, people in a family support each other in times of need. |

Re: lake texoma accident !!!
Life is so prescious, and can be taken away so quickly and unexpectedly. This type of thing makes you stop and think about what is really important in life. We all love boating; it is our passion and hobby, but it is not what is REALLY important, not compared with our families, our children, our health, our great friends. I did not know these people but had admired their boats, but their passing leaves me with a deep sense of sadness and loss. God bless their familes and loved ones, and may God help Bruce to a speedy recovery.
