I just don't get it Mark.
What difference does it really make where the money comes from?
Whether it be AMF or Panasonic ?
Whether it be Bud Select or Fountain Powerboats ???
The important thing is that people are willing to put up the cash to make this sport grow. I have thanked and supported them all and will continue to do so...
With TalkOffshore initially bringing us the Live Audio and now AMF TV Productions bringing us Live TV these steps have been ground breaking for this sport and because of that alone, it is certainly a damn good reason to say it has been the best World Championships ever!
It isn't always about the quantity of boats but the quality as a whole over the entire event.
I raced in Key West where we had over 140+ boats back in the 90's. I can honestly say, this event even topped that due to the quality of the event and being able to bring it LIVE into people's living rooms or hotel rooms was huge!
Even back home we had people at the Mantoloking Pub (OPA Team Sponsor) watching the races as I am sure people in KW had it too!
Cox Cable went Regional with their signal as far as I know and the rest was via the Internet.
I never had been at an OS Race where I could be out on a deck to watch the race and take pics then turn my head to see what was going on in the rest of the course.

would have loved to see the look on Carbonell's face when the poker runners refused to assist him with the parade lap so that he could attempt to claim his sponsorship $$. word has it he wasnt gettin any $$ without a 70 boat count and asked Stu to assist....Stu's event was 2nd to none as usual

I JUST WISH THE DIFFERENT ORGANIZATIONS COULD GET ALONG AND RACE TOGETHER NO MATTER THE LOCATION!!
Since everone split up I totally do not enjoy any of the races like I use to.
In years past I enjoyed everyone at one race..I'M A FAN and don't care what kind of bickering goes on behind the scenes..I just want lots of boats at really exotic locations for the good money I spend to travel and stay at these places.

This is from my "Weekend at Bernie's".
Shot from his balcony 5th floor condo.
No dissappointment for me.
Was able to shoot pics and watch the other side of the course on LIVE AMF TV on COX CABLE.
AC, a fridge full of Bud refreshments, great view with great company.
It couldn't have been any better in my case....

Will the bickering ever friggin end? It's over and people are still bickering about it. Damn, if we cannot get along on this board, how the hell do you expect all the organizations to get along? Maybe the bickering babbling people should just get more involved and see if you can do something about. Stop your crying already. Destin or KW, I could care less. It was about going to the races and cheering my boys on! If it was a vacation destination, I wouldn't go to neither, I'd go somewhere other than Destin or KW.
