Fuel switch turned on? I had this problem on my Sonic. It had a fuel cutoff switch and it was turned 180 degrees from 'on' and looked turned on, but it was not.

I had a similar problem with my hustler at the beginning of the summer. I replaced the batteries but the port motor felt like it was dragging something. My mechanics (which were terrible) said nothing was wrong. Went to a better dealer and found out the coupler was bad (I think). Anyway it was something in between the drive shaft and my bravos. There was a small oil leak that tipped them off to the problem but it can happen without the leak.
