Feedback on my Graphics
Well, I have ALMOST put the finishing touches on my graphics for my new boat and would like to hear some input, reccomendations etc. on what you think. Check it out...
web page :D |
Yellow....for some reason..stands out so much I like it......  :D ;)
|
looks pretty good
|
Looks awesome the way it is!!!
|
Dan, Looks awesome! For a goof, try a couple of different colors in place of the black...mebee green or blue or purple or orange...
|
Love it!
It will look cool from the front because each side is different. What is with the 6 tail pipes? Are you getting triples? |
FANTASTIC!!!!
I wouldn't change a thing. |
I like the split between white and yellow on the deck and hatch...And the way the two switch from top to bottom from one side to the next. Creative!!
|
Looks great!!! :D
The great Troutmeister has a good suggestion about carrying the blue up onto the sunpad a bit. Something to consider... :D And now I can go tell all my friends that I was helping design a 37 AT today... Sean :) |
I've always liked their reversing lightning bolt scheme. And yellow boats always look real good.
Here are my thoughts: I'm not real wild about the blue lighning bolts. They don't seem to fit. I don't see any blue on the top deck, so that detail needs to be delt with. Also, what will the transom color be? Blue, red and black? I would suggest having the yellow and white shot using a pearl. Do the red and black in a solid. That would make the boat really POP! Instead of alternating the seat colors, could you have the lighting bolt tear though the center one? I'd have the lightning bolt on the floor carpet too. |
I second the blue on the top of the deck. I'd loose the multiple colored seats. Find one and stick with it. The boat should be flashy for everyone to see. The cockpit should be relaxing and the differnt colors makes it really unsettling. Just my .02.
|
Looks great! I'm sure it will look even better when finished. Good Luck
|
How about lime green instead of black?
I would add more color to the sunpad and front deck and add a lightning bolt to the cockpit carpet. It really looks good though!!!! Please post pictures when you get it. |
I'd like to see the blue brought up from along the side and then brought across the sundeck with the yellow....
then again, I'd change the blue to purple... however - I think it looks great! - jeff |
Some great ideas, I like adding some blue to the deck and sunpad. And we are trying to work some color into the cockpit carpet, either bolts or the boat name.
We worked on about 5 different colors for the black on the sides and the black looked the best. We are going to put some cool gray airbrushing where some of the white in the sides are but it is too dificult to illustrate it. As for the mutliple head rests, we orgionally had them the same blue color as the bolts, changed them, but maybe we should change back. Great feedback, and please keep it coming... :D :D |
That looks nice ThunderDan, Real Nice!! ;)
|
aside from needing to think out the transition of colors on the back side and hatch. Where doese the blue go? AT always seems to make there names too small, make the name taller 13-15 tall letters. The layout is very nice.
|
Yellow is hot right now!
Not like it hasn't been mentioned before in this thread, but I'd reconsider the alternating upholstery colors. The entire color scheme of the boat does NOT follow a "block" symetrical pattern except the headrests & bolsters. Maybe mixing the colors across all seats in the lightning bolt or upholstery tufting(?) patterns. Either way I'm sure you'll have a head- turner! Make sure to post the finished product |
I think the sides look great ! I agree the deck and hatch need just a touch of blue . I would leave the seats white (I think anything else is too hot to sit on ) ,and maybe put a couple small colered stripes or lightning bolts through the seats . I like your idea of puting the name on the carpet ! Maybe do it to the seats instead if you can ? Looks like you have armrests in back ?
|
Thanks and keep em coming... :D
Boot, Yes the back seat will have armrests, we are still designing theat part. Active Thunder has been great about designing and changing and changing the design, but I want to make only one last revision with some of the comments and be done. :D |
Thunderdan,
I love it, my boat it YELLOW,purple and lipstick(pink), I agree only with bringing some of the blue up on deck, I have purple mixed with yellow on white background on my hatch and it looks great. Just one thing to think about I was told yellow fades the easiest, but I liked it enough that I still got it, 2 summers and I can't tell any fade! WILL |
Great color choices. Red Yellow and Blue are the primary colors and will always look good no matter what color is the current rage. When I bought my new boat I had 18 colors to choose from and I also went with the same three colors you have chosen. The boat is 7 years old and people still think it is new because it looks fresh.
I also agree with Troutly that you need to get some blue up on the engine hatch area. Overall AWESOME layout--I am jealous!! Please post some pics when it is real!!! |
I like it! I also agree with everyone that said the deck and sunpad could use a little blue. Is the lettering that's not blue silver? If not, maybe consider mirror silver for those parts of the name.

Looks sweet man :D

Hi Dan
Just a couple thoughts. I think black should be used instead of airbrushed gray for the name of your boat. On one side of the boat and on the deck, it will be against a yellow background and on the other side of the boat it will be against a white background. You really want black against yellow/white, not gray. You can still use gray airbrush techniques on a black logo to give it an interesting "chrome/steel" highlight look. If you still want to go with the white/gray name... I think a thicker black border than what is shown would help. Black definitely would work though.... on the sides you also have that black line and on the deck you have the prominent black border around the lightning bolts. Another suggestion I have is you drop the white lightning bolt theme on the deck and replace it with blue lightning bolts bordered in black like you do the red ones. That would introduce a nice amount of blue to the deck which would work very nicely assuming you could get some blue onto the sunpad area. I think extending the blue you have at the rear of the boat 1/4 of the way into the sunpad on each side would be more than enough. The reason for the blue bolts instead of white is that it's just a bad idea to have white illustrations against a yellow background. A painter I know would say that color combination "vibrates". Black against yellow is awesome, nice contrast and easy to get the impact. White on yellow, very little contrast and it dances around your head and is a tiring combination to look at. Anyway, hope this helps. Best regards---- John |
Beautiful. I'll take it.
|
That is awesome. Go for it!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
Thunderdan-
Looks great! BTW- You think T-Daze is reading this? :D  :D |
looks good...some people want to see more of a "balanced" paint scheme (which was more proper in the old days) and others understand that in todays world, anything goes...and usually, the "anything goes" design is much more interesting! I do agree with one thing, get rid of the colored interior inserts, go solid white and you can't go wrong!
|
Love the design, just not real keen on all that yellow. Just my .02, but there sure seems to be quite a bit of yellpw used in new boat paint schemes. What would happen if you added some fade to, for example, the way Team Virgin blends to a yellow/orange.
|
The first thing I thought when I saw it was that I did not like the alternating color of the seats. Other then that you are in the correct direction for a real looker. I have some pictures of the 42 Cig Tiger with a graffic job kind of the same although colors are definatly reversed. I will try and dig it up. It may give you some ideas.

WOW, looks good, DON'T CHANGE A THING!!!Looks like you have put him thru the ringer on the design stuff, all those changes and additions. Make sure you take care of this guy! :D :D :D :D :D

Great use of Yellow. I would lose the name "Thunderstorm" nothing dates a boat more than names. Just my $.02
|
I love everything except the different color seats/headrests. I too agree a bit of blue on the deck would help it pop! Awesome design overall though.
|
Looks great! What's the deal with the 6 exhausts? You putting trips in that bad dog?   ;)
|
Looks very nice, the only things I would suggest would be make the rear seat and the bolsters all white , if you want to tie the other colors in have some embrodiery (sp) done on the seats headrest in those colors . Good Luck , Tom

Dan,
Looks nice, but I do agree with some of the comments. One thing that I notice is this: The yellow on the bow seems to wrap around from the sides, which is why one side is white, the other yellow. Now, going towards the transom, BOTH sides of the boat have the blue lightning bolts, so, with that concept, shouldn't the blue actually wrap up and on the sun lounge? That would eliminate the excessive yellow on the top of the boat. In addition, the top view pic will make it appear like there is too much yellow, but in less you are in a helicopter, you probably won't notice it to an extreme while using the boat. And, I totally agree with the interior comments made. I'd go all white with some lightning bolts in the gunwales, maybe one or two on the deck if it was all white, and some lightning bolts in the headrests or something, but I'd use blue and not the yellow there as it would stand out more. On the interior, our boat has all white, and some colors on the lounge, and I won't do anything but all white personally on another boat. I love it. I see so many boats now with too many colors and it just looks too busy in my opinion. I agree with Caincando, the boat should be flashy, but the cockpit and cabin you spend lots of time in, so whatever you decide, personalize it for you, and don't worry about being flashy if that is not your style. This boat has sharp enough paint to more than cover for the "check THAT out" individuality. If you like the splash of lots of color, do what you want, just giving you what you asked for :) Now, for the bottom paint.....use BLACK...LOL! Nice boat, you're a lucky guy! Mark |
That looks fantastic. I think the colors all go great together. I would go with an all white intereor though. With all that color on the glass the white vinyl will look fresh. Great scheme!
|
I would lose the multi colored seats and pull some blue up over the pad in the back. Maybe put the AT logo back there too. The graphics really look good though. Nice job Steve :D
|
So Dan, are you going to listen to us and do the right thing? Solid white interior, maybe a little BLUE on the sunpad, and get the thing complete?
