I'm embarrassed to see it in print. Never gave it that much thought before.

But we really use out boat. 400 Hours and counting, 25 poker runs and a LOT of fun and good friends.

You only live once, RIGHT?

Man I bet "Dave Ramsey" would have a field day with us.

Would my wife let me sell the boat? HELL NO

oh man,, between the other guy reminding me about food and drinks and now you go and remind me about the payment and insurance on the pick-up....
I knew I really really didn't want to know....

I try to not give the cost any thought.
It's a hobby not a business. I'll pay what it costs to keep it running. But if something major happend I'll decide then if the cost vs value is worth it.

Re: the bill

I keep track of what I spend on the boat (purchase price, repairs, etc) just so I know what I spent when I go to sell it. I do NOT keep track of what I spend actually boating. I always figured if you had to tally it up you'd be really depressed

When I bought my boat earlier this year,
I wanted the cost of maintenance and upkeep to be predictable .....
so I bought a Baja :D

The new Konrads added to much to the bills.......I think I should just stop adding now, and wipe up the drool.

You guys are freaking me out. I'm trading my sports car racing for "pleasure" boating...:D
In the end I don't think I'll spend less cash, but I'll get a lot more fun per hour out of the time I spend on the water.
Plus, while there's hot chicks around the race cars, they get naked a lot easier on the boat :evilb:

Buy something with an extended Mercruiser warranty and enjoy. High performance boating is every bit as expensive as motor racing, if not more.
