the michelob light boat is almost ready for paint! i have one small spot to fair out mon am, then i'll spray 2 coats of duratech to block out, before i prime the hull and deck with 3 coats of awgrip epoxy primer. tabs, drives, dash, and cockpit are ready for paint, 1 or 2 days prepping the engine compartment and it will be ready for paint. cant wait to get this baby done! will update this thread as i make more progress over the next few weeks, rm

it took almost a full week to strip 4 or 5 coats of paint off these monster tabs cuz i couldn't remove the pins to get the rams off.

yeah it was no problem, they get 225 bucks for one in my neck of the woods :eek: i like that duratech...that chit is the bomb to blend in the faired areas. they make duratech in poly and vinyl ester BTW.

me either jeff! im hoping to have it 100% complete by the end of nov. i ended up buying four new barry grant demons for my new motors, they are a little bigger than what i had so im hoping to pick up a few more doggies when he makes the next dyno pull and tunes em up. did you get my harmonic balancer yet? keep me posted on that bro, thx a million for your help. you're the best no matter what that dickhole stecz says about you :evilb: , peace out rm

never sank it spun out in the st pete race in 78, there was a tear in the left side of the hull from the rub rail to about 3 inches above the water line. it also had a crack in the left side of the deck, but the 38 larry smith scarabs were prone to craking there. the tear in the hull was fixed in 78 by larry smith, its held up ever since. the crack in the deck had 3 half azzed repairs stacked on top of each other, i ground all that crap out and reglassed it, and reinforced the crap out of the area. it should be good to go, i plan on running the hell out of it on the big stuff :D

no rat, that's when the wind picks your boat up out of your yards and sticks them into your neighbors bedroom, no big deal though, you were probably with the neighbor already. lol. lookin good rat. still counting on the boat ride. we will make big willy show up with the cooler of drinks. he is in fort pierce. hammer
