Exactly...boats arent investments just like cars. Buy the thing with disposable income and sell it when your done. And dont buy the thing based on how the next person will perceive the value. Go arneson.

I agree. Buy what YOU like, and don't worry about the next buyer. I laugh when someone doesn't want to put the miles on thier car, or truck, hell, that's exactly what I buy them for! The only way to get your money out of a car is to drive it out of it. :)

I don't think the question ever got answered as to why more OEMs are not using surface drives. I'd be interested in knowing.

Also can someone point me to an Arneson drive price list?

Michael

Probably because Mercury has a liberal credit policy and fronts a lot of engines and drives to the manufacturers and waits for payment. I know they ended up taking a huge chunk of Fountain stock because Reggie owed so much money to them.

Hey T2x, do the math, lol.
2900 RPM=67mph,
3900 RPM= 90 mph

Someone tell T2x
Rocker Plates only move a quater of an inch. Too fuuny!

Last time I checked..many inboards blow up too. As far as speed is concerned with outboards there are some mighty fast ones out there......... The record is 176 mph.... and this thing is no dog either. (if I ever get the cojones up to open it up)
