You'll never get your Skater to ride like a Wing... A Skater is a cat/tunnel hull...which needs a positive attack angle and some contact with the water (that's why you need some combination of shaft angle and prop rake to carry the bow)....a wing is a four point hydroplane that is intended to fly level and needs little or no water contact...see 1st two pictures below. Hydros like negative shaft angles...to carry the stern.

T2x, you obviously know a thing or two :D

OK, that's putting it mildly. But now you've got me really confused because your level of knowledge makes it even harder for me to understand your preference for the #6 over Arnesons.

Or is it that you believe that not all surface drives are created equal and that ASD is perhaps not the best incarnation of the concept?

I think Mr. T2x is saying is that Arnesons work as long as you have a rudder. Without the rudder at higher speeds the boats (tunnels,cats,ect.) look squirley. Deep V's are too slow for this effect :D

I've heard of some cats that have such a high x dimension on the drives that they become squirrely at high speed. This can probably be worked out by deeper skegs on any drive. I know on some of the Arnesons they have "twin bolt on skegs" that fun down both sides of the props. I wonder if they have different lengths?
